Several times my Savage has acted as though it was not getting fuel, even though I had recently filled the tank. When this happens, I reach down and switch the petcock to reserve and the bike recovers. Then I switch it back to "on" and the engine has no further complaints. This Savage is a 2001 model with only 3600 miles.
